      2    Oz 3 ply white sport yarn           1    Green sport yarn
      1    Oz red sport yarn                   1    Size g crochet hook

  this fits a child size 1, doubles as a vest. it has a big apple desing
  which is worked into the front. to change colors, always complete the last
  st before the color change w/the new color. to carry colors across a row,
  keep dropped strand along the edge of the last row and work over dropped
  strand w/the new color. if the same color is not used again in the same
  row, break off and fasten after changing back to white.

  gauge: 4 hdc=1", 5 rows= 1 1/2"

  i do not have the rest of the instructions but was seen in the summer 1980
  edition  of crochet world omnibook. does anybody have page  56? that page
  also featured the legend of victorian designs.
