Before you copy, back up, or restore a service profile, verify that the following conditions are true: A. The source server and all destination servers are running NetWare for SAA 1.3. B. If the source server and any of the destination servers are running NetWare 3.1x, you have the password for the SUPERVISOR user ID or the user ID and password for a user with supervisor-equivalent privileges for each server. C. If the source server and any of the destination servers arerunning NetWare 4.0x, you have the password for the CSADMIN user or the user ID and password for a user in the same context as the NetWare for SAA server with security equivalence to the NetWare server object for each server. Refer to the "NetWare for SAA 1.3B Administration Guide" for information on creating a 4.0x user. D. The Communication Executive is loaded on the source server and all destination servers. II. Start the SAACOPY utility from the DOS prompt by entering the following command: SAACOPY SAACOPY starts and displays the Main menu. III. TO BACK UP SERVICE PROFILES. 1. Select "Back Up/Restore Profiles" from the SAACOPY Main menu. 2. Select "Back Up Profiles to Disk." SAACOPY displays a list of Communication Servers currently on the network. 3. Select the NetWare for SAA Communication Server to backup. COMMEXEC.NLM must be loaded on the server you intend to back up. 4. SAACOPY will prompt you to log in as Supervisor or Supervisor equivalent. Once you have logged in, SAACOPY will display a list of all the NetWare for SAA service profile records on the server specified. 5. Select one or more service profile records to backup to disk. Use the key to select multiple service profile records. 6. Press to proceed with the back up. 7. SAACOPY will prompt you to enter the drive and directory path to which the service profile records will be backed up. The drive and path designations can be any local DOS device or a mapped network drive. SAACOPY automatically creates a filename with a DOS file extension ".S20" identifying a PU2.0 SAA service profile record, or ".S21" identifying a PU2.1 SAA service profile record. The filename corresponds to the service profile record name. The backed up files can be renamed as long as the DOS file extensions remain the same. This is required for the Restore procedure. NOTE: SAACOPY writes the backed up SAA service profile records to ASCII DOS files. Do not edit or delete any lines from a file created by this utility. If you select more than one service profile record to back up and wish to stop the backup once it has begun, press . SAACOPY will stop the backup procedure once it has completed backing up the service profile record in progress. IV. TO RESTORE ONE OR MORE SAA SERVICE PROFILES THAT WERE PREVIOUSLY BACKED UP. 1. Select "Back Up/Restore Profiles" from the SAACOPY Main menu. 2. Select "Restore Profiles from Disk." 3. SAACOPY will prompt you to enter the source path of the backed up SAA service profile records. Enter the drive and directory path of the backed up SAA service profile records that you wish to restore. 4. SAACOPY will display a list of all the NetWare for SAA service profile records found in the directory specified. Select one or more service profile records to restore. Use the key to select multiple service profile records. Press when you have completed your selections. 5. SAACOPY will display a list of Communication Servers currently on the network. Select one or more 1.3.x NetWare for SAA Communication Servers to which you want to restore the specified service profile records. Use the key to select multiple Communication Servers. Press when you have completed your selections. 6. During the restoration process, SAACOPY will prompt you to log into each server specified as Supervisor or Supervisor equivalent. If you select more than one service profile to restore and wish to stop the restoration once it has begun, press . SAACOPY stops the restoration once it has completed restoring the service profile record in progress. V. RESTORING ACCESS CONTROL LISTS (ACLS) During the restore procedure, if a user name or the group name of an ACL that you are attempting to restore does not already exist on the target server to which you are restoring, that user name or group name will not be added to any of the ACL lists created. To be sure that all user names or group names are restored, add the user names and group names to the target server using either SYSCON or NETADMIN before you begin the restore procedure.
