	*** OVERVIEW of CrypEdit ***

	CrypEdit is a menu driven Windows(TM) v3.1 program created to provide 
users with a secure environment to edit, view, and print encrypted or 
non-encrypted text files while also enabling users to encrypt or decrypt DOS 
compatible files of any size.  It also includes built in utilities to UU encode 
and decode any file so that 8 bit format files can be transferred over 
systems limited to 7 bit format.  Online documentation/help is provided 
through a Windows v3.1 compatible help file which is almost an 
exact copy of the printed manual.
	The multiple document/window text editor enables users to delete, 
cut, copy, paste, search for, search and replace (when search is used 
in combination with paste), and move text (when cut is used in 
combination with paste); it also supports "word wrap" so that users 
don't have to type a carriage return at the end of each line, which 
makes the conversion of text files to, or from, most word processor 
file formats much easier.  The menu driven file encryption and 
decryption utilities can be used on any size DOS compatible file.  
This enables users to utilize all the advantages of encryption and 
decryption to store, transport, use, and ensure the privacy of their 
DOS compatible data files.
	The ability to load, edit, view, print, and save any normal or 
encrypted text editor file ensures that all of the text files you want to 
be private remain private except to those people who know or can 
determine the two passwords you used to encrypt those files.  
Maximum privacy and security is ensured by creating a text editor 
file with CrypEdit and then always saving it as an encrypted text file.  
This ensures that the text editor file never resided on any storage 
media unprotected, (not encrypted).  Now you can send DOS 
compatible text files through "public networks" or "common carriers" 
and be assured the maximum level of security available today.  Only 
you and the people who know or can determine both the passwords 
can view, edit, utilize, or print what you sent or saved!  Use it to keep 
your information private: bank and credit card numbers, bank and 
investment account information, personal notes, or... whatever 
secure.  At work you can store and send memos, notes, business 
plans, confidential documents, or... whatever on and over the network 
knowing that prying eyes won't see the contents unless they can 
decrypt them.

	*** INSTALLING THE PROGRAM ***
	
	Copy the the two included files to your desired directory on whatever 
media/disk.  It is suggested to copy these files to your windows directory, 
usually C:\Windows.

	Now exceute the PKUnZip program on the CEDW25ie.Zip file, or 
	execute the executable self-extracting PK Zip file CEDW25ie.Exe,
	whichever you may have, delete the orginal PK Zipped file. 

	Now start Windows, if it is not already started, by exceuting the Win 
	command.

	Now you can either use the file manager to display the CrypEdit.Exe 
program file within one of its windows and then double click on the 
CrypEdit.Exe program file to execute the program, or add CrypEdit to one of 
your Program Manager Groups.  To add CrypEdit to one of your Program 
Manager Groups: first select and enable the Program Manager Group that you 
want to add CrypEdit to.  Now use the Program Manager's file menu "New" 
option, and specify "New Program Item".  The Program Item Properties dialog 
box comes up and you can input a description, command line, working 
directory, and a short cut key.  The easiest way to complete this action, 
assuming you have copied all of the distribution files to the Windows 
directory, is to click on the BROWSE button, double click on the 
CrypEdit.Exe file and then click on the OK button.  The CrypEdit icon 
should now appear in the enabled Program Manager Group and all 
you have to do from now on to use the program is double click on 
that icon!
