By: Vikki Clayton Amazon Dry Goods * Forwarded from "Internet - Textile Crafts" I'm providing the address for Amazon Drygoods. For those who don't yet know about them, they specialize in historical goodies from a vast array of time periods. Their wares include o patterns and clothes--Ancient and medieval through twentieth century. You want a pattern for a mid-Victorian riding habit? They got it. You want a flapper costume? They got it. They even have some patterns for the more, uh, generous figure. Some things you can by ready-made. I bought a hooped petticoat from them a couple of years ago. o shoes and boots--They have some patterns, but they also will supply custom-made footwear (for a price, sigh). o headgear--Hats! Some patterns, but also some ready-made hats are available--as well as supplies. o books, stuff 'n' things, and edibles--These tend toward the Victorian, mostly, but are fun anyway. Toys, housewares, instruments (not many), thingamajigs. They have four separate catalogs (they don't correspond to the list I made above). Heaven help us all, they take Mastercard, Visa, and Discover. Amazon Drygoods orders: (319) 322-6800 2218 East 11th Street (800) 798-7979 Davenport, Iowa 52803-3760 fax: (319) 322-4003
