Easy to Install Wireless Doorbell. Purchase a wireless doorbell kit at your hardware store. Put backplate against wall or door frame where you wish to position the doorbell outide. Using pencil mark the screw holes on the backplate. Set aside backplate. Drill starter holes for screws. Put backplate back into postion, screw in screws. (If screwing into concrete, brick or tile, use a masonry drill bit to make starter holes AND insert lead anchors into holes before putting in the screws.) Put batteries into doorbell. Select door chime. Snap door bell unit onto backplate. Note: There are several brand of wireless door chimes on the market. Some rquire that the chime unit be plugged into an outlet. The ones not requiring plugging are portable. You may find this feature handy if you wish to carry your chime with you out to the garden or pool area, where you might normally not be able to hear the doorbell. This does however use up the battery more.
