Installation Instructions for a NetWare 4.01 server

(These instructions assume that you have already installed NetWare
Connect.)  

1. Exit the NWC console if it is running.

2. Do an NWCSTOP from the server console.

3. Down the server.

4. EXIT to DOS.

5. Make a directory on the server's hard drive called PATCH.

6. Make a subdirectory under PATCH called DISK1.

7. Put NWC001.EXE into the DISK1 subdirectory and unzip it:
     NWC001   <enter>

8. Make a subdirectory under PATCH called DISK2.

9. Put NWC002.EXE into the DISK2 subdirectory and unzip it:
     NWC002      <enter>   

10. RUN SERVER.EXE

11. LOAD INSTALL

12. Choose "Maintenance/Selective Installation"

13. If you are running the NASI Connection Service (NCS), load
SPXFIX2.NLM.  Add a LOAD SPXFIX2 statement to AUTOEXEC.NCF. 

14. Choose "Product Options"

15. Press INSERT

16. Push F3

17. Enter the path to the DISK1 directory.

18. Follow the instructions.  

19. Restart Netware Connect with NWCSTART.

20. Reload your AIO driver(s).

21. Copy the following new files to the remote PCs (and any
workstations on your LAN which will functioning as remotes).     
     NRN.COM*
     DIALCON.EXE*
     NETWARN.COM*

22. Copy NASI.EXE* to any workstations on your LAN which will be
functioning as remotes.

*NOTE: It is extremely important that the old versions of all 4 of
these files be replaced on ALL workstations.  
 
23. On a NetWare 4.01 server
   - SPXFIX2.NLM     11/23/93
   - PM401.NLM       2/3/94
   - SPXDDFIX.NLM    9/20/93
   - SPXS.NLM        9/14/93
   - STREAMS.NLM     9/14/93
   - TLI.NLM         9/14/93
   - IPXS.NLM        8/23/93
The first 2 files are included in the latest NetWare Connect patch,
and installed automatically, the rest are in STRTL2.EXE which can be
found in Library 4 of NOVLIB.

24. See item #1 in "Solutions Specifics" of NWC001.TXT, for
instructions regarding the use of the new NetWarn utility.

NOTES
- Reinstall NetWare Connect if you do any of the following on your
NetWare 4.x server:  
 > Reinstall NetWare Directory Services
 > Change the bindery context for the server
 > Change the "IPX INTERNAL NET" address for the server

- NetWare Connect 1.0 does not support X.25 services on NetWare 4.0
and NetWare 4.01 servers.

- Do not create a user named SUPERVISOR.  SUPERVISOR has a special
meaning and is maintained by the NetWare 4.x operating system for
NetWare 3.1x compatibility only.
