Ad Hoc Database Manager version 1.10 Vendor Information and Additional License Terms Dec 27, 1993 License information for users and distributors of Ad Hoc is found in the Software License Agreement and Limited Warranty ("License Agreement") in the file LICENSE.TXT. Individuals who wish to give a copy of the evaluation version of Ad Hoc to friends or associates may do so subject to the terms of the license agreement. This file (VENDOR.TXT) provides information and additional license terms for Shareware Distributors, Disk Vendors and Computer Clubs who wish to distribute the Ad Hoc version 1.10 Shareware Distribution Package. Shareware Distribution Package ------------------------------ The Shareware version of Ad Hoc displays the words "Unregistered Ad Hoc" in the title bar of the main window, and the designation "Evaluation Copy" in the client area of the main window. Only copies of this version of Ad Hoc may be distributed as Shareware. Other versions of Ad Hoc not so marked are registered, or retail, versions and may not be distributed as Shareware. The Shareware Distribution Package is defined as the Shareware version of ADHOC.EXE as defined above, plus exact copies of all the other files listed in the file FILES.TXT. These files must be compressed into a single file with the name ADHOC.ZIP that can be expanded with PKUNIP version 2 or later. Distribution of an incomplete package, is forbidden. Modification of the files in this package in any way or including additional files is also forbidden without written permission from ExLogica. Copies of the most recent version of the file ADHOC.WRI, a description of Ad Hoc (in Windows Write format), may be distributed separately without expressed permission, as long as the contents are not altered, deleted, or added to. Restrictions to Distribution ---------------------------- Computer Clubs and User Groups wishing to add Ad Hoc to their software library may do so in accordance with the distribution restrictions listed below. No fee, charge, or other compensation may be requested for distributing copies of Ad Hoc, except: Operators of electronic bulletin board systems may make Ad Hoc available for downloading only if conditions of the License Agreement are met, and no fees are charged specifically for downloading Ad Hoc. The only permissible charges are the time-dependent charges for use of the bulletin board. Vendors of user-supported or Shareware software may distribute Ad Hoc only with written permission from ExLogica. Vendors may charge a disk duplication and handling fee which, when pro-rated to the Ad Hoc product, may not exceed eight (8) dollars. Non-profit user groups may distribute copies of Ad Hoc to their members, without specific permission, subject to the conditions in the License Agreement. Non-profit groups may collect a disk duplication fee not to exceed five (5) dollars. Copies of Ad Hoc may not be rented or leased to others. Operators of electronic bulletin boards or other information services must agree to remove Ad Hoc from their download libraries within one (1) day of a request from ExLogica. ExLogica reserves the right to terminate a distribution license agreement with any vendor. A vendor must remove Ad Hoc from its distribution as soon as possible (but not to exceed sixty (60) days) after such request from ExLogica. ExLogica, a dba of Lyle Groome, is the exclusive copyright holder of Ad Hoc Database Manager. Utility routines found in dynamic link libraries used by Ad Hoc are used and distributed under licenses from Microsoft Corporation, Borland International, Inc., and Novell, Inc. ExLogica authorizes distribution of Ad Hoc only in accordance with the following restrictions. Distribution by Disk Sets and CD-ROM ------------------------------------ Ad Hoc may not be sold as part of another application or application package, including any commercial software offer, without a written agreement with ExLogica. Vendors who wish to distribute the Ad Hoc Shareware Distribution Package as part of a collection must obtain permission from ExLogica prior to beginning such a distribution. Before adding Ad Hoc to a CD-ROM or other collection, please check the release date of the version you have. If the version is over six (6) months old, please contact us to ensure that you have the most current version. Ad Hoc version 1.10 was released on Dec 27, 1993. You may not start a new distribution of outdated versions of Ad Hoc without written permission from ExLogica. Before distributing Ad Hoc on a "disk-of-the-month" club or similar type of distribution, you must check with ExLogica and insure that you are distributing the latest version of Ad Hoc. You may not list Ad Hoc in advertisements, catalogs, or other literature which describes it as "FREE SOFTWARE". The correct definition of Shareware, as explained in the file SHAREW.TXT, must be used. Licensee shall not use, copy, rent, lease, sell, modify, decompile, disassemble, otherwise reverse engineer, or transfer the licensed program except as provided in this agreement. Any such unauthorized use shall result in immediate and automatic termination of this license. U.S. Government Information: Use, duplication, or disclosure by the U.S. Government of the computer software and documentation in this package shall be subject to the restricted rights applicable to commercial computer software as set forth in subdivision (b)(3)(ii) of the Rights in Technical Data and Computer Software clause at 252.227-7013 (DFARS 52.227-7013).
