USING SUARM IN A FIDO<->QWK GATEWAY SUARM uses the "Sent" flag in RA to mark which messages have been exported and which have not. This saves the headaches created by some other tossers with database files that might get corrupted. It does present a problem, however, for those who want to use SUARM as part of a network gateway between QWK-style networks and FTSC standard networking, since this is the same flag all Fido tossers use to mark messages as sent. (My original intention was to use the "Exported" flag, but this flag is not supported in the JAM message base structures, so it was back to the drawing board.) If you want to use SUARM as part of a QWK/FTSC gateway, you must follow these steps: (1) ADD THIS LINE TO YOUR SUARM.CFG FILE: USESENT=OFF This will tell SUARM to NOT set the "Sent" flag when it exports messages. (2) MAKE SURE YOU RUN YOUR FIDO TOSSER IMMEDIATELY AFTER EXPORTING WITH SUARM. This will make sure the Fido tosser sets the flags, so SUARM will not re-toss the messages on its next run. SUARM has not been extensively tested as part of a QWK/FIDO gateway. If you want to use it in this manner, please alert me of any problems immediately, and I will take care of them for you.
