H. DAVID ISEMAN, M.D., F.R.C.P.(C) 183 ST. CLAIR AVENUE WEST TORONTO, ONTARIO M4V 1P7 After booting up your computer, at the dos prompt type: drive:update (drive = a or b) Addenda to the Manual ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Restore (see STATUTIL p.11) =========================== STATUTIL will restore database and configuration files from the back-up diskette. A vertical menu will permit the user to select files to be copied into the directory overwriting the existing ver sions. Restore is the counterpart to B(ackup). Restore is accessed in STATUTIL on the M(aintenance) submenu. Remittance Advice (see Reconciliation p.7) ========================================== OHIP claim numbers will be written to the end of each record line in the file. These claim numbers can be displayed by scrolling laterally by using the left or right arrow keys, or by using an editor or word processor Windows Write, WordPerfect, or by using dos type command at the dos prompt. E.G.: if you have just made a remittance advice file, JAN94.RPT, the claim numbers may be displayed using a dos editor, or your word processor; or, at the dos prompt in the directory containing STAT typing: type jan94.rpt |more OHIP claim numbers will be written on the line below each claim. You may find it expedient and less time consuming to re-submit one or more claims, rather than sending an enquiry letter to OHIP about one or more claims which have gone astray. Manual Review (see Dates p.6) ============================== Claims may be submitted for Manual Review, and a "form" will be generated which will allow the user to include the supporting reasons. On first entry into the Dates section, the user will be asked whe- ther any of the claims which will be entered at that time will require manual review. The default is No, which can be accepted by pressing , or if the user presses y for yes, after a name has been selected, the user will be asked if that claim requires manual review. If no, the user will not be prompted again until the next time Dates is accessed; it is more efficient to enter all claims which will require a Manual Review at one time. If y, for yes, the legend Manual Review will be displayed when Review Billing screen is displayed. On any reports, MR will be displayed at the right margin beside the claim. When the submission is made to OHIP, STAT will automatically print a "form" which will allow the reason, e.g., I.C. for consultation which lasted longer than the usual, to be included and sent with the claim. Premium Codes (p.6) ==================== To claim double premiums, enter the time component first, the ICU portion next, and then the consultation, visit or procedure code. The program will also do all calculations for the odd number codes. e.g.: To claim an emergency (K994A) Sunday consultation (C195A) in the ICU (C101A) proceed as follows: while the cursor is flashing in the service code field type or pick K994A; Special Premium will be displayed on the right side of the screen, and the cursor will be flashing in the service code field again. Type or pick C101A; ICU will be displayed to the right of the Special Premium notice. The cursor will be flashing in the service code field again. Type or pick C195A. Enter the rest of the information and press F2 to save the claim. Similarly, the odd number premium codes can be entered as single or double premiums. They should be entered in the same order as previously demonstrated. The program will make all calculations automatically. (These services must be in the Services and Fees database if they are to be claimed. If they are not present, follow the instructions on p.9 for adding new services.)
