Then I cut a 4" wide diagonal strip through the center. _________________________ | \ | |\ \ | | \ \ | | \ \ | | \ \ | | \ \ | | \ \ | | \ \ | | \ \ | | \ \ | | \ \| <---- Center strip _____________________\___ Then Sew this strip lengthwise into a long tube, finishing the ends while still leaving the tube open... (I generally put leave the hem in that is stiched in the original bandana in, and just make sure that I catch the ends securely when I make the tube. OR you can just use regular cloth... just make sure that you have a tube that is about 22" long when fully finished. about 7" from one end, sew a strip across the tube. into the open end of the tube, pour a small packet of the water crystals... you can buy these at wal mart back in the gardening area. Then, about 7" from the open end, sew across the tube again to make a closed middle section in the tube with the crystals inside.. Take the finished tube..make sure the crystals are evenly distributed inside the pocket. Soak this in cold water. After about 10 min soaking time, pull it out and distribute the gel evenly inside the pocket. Return to water and let soak at least another 45 min, or until tube looks like a fat sausage. This will be good for about 2 days, although my fiance is constantly dousing his in cold water just for the extra cooling. When you are finished with it, simply leave it out of water, and after about 2 weeks, the gel will return to its crystal state. For care, simply hand wash in water... Nothing to it.
