KDL11B.ZIP Ken's Disk Labeler for Windows Version 1.1B by Ken Fose ----------------------------------------------------------------- Program Information: ----------------------------------------------------------------- EXE: KDL.EXE Program Name, Category, Keywords: --------------------------------- Name - Ken's Disk Labeler for Windows Version 1.1B Category - Windows (Utilities) Keywords - LABEL, DISK, UTILITY, WINDOWS, SHAREWARE, LABELS Short Description: ------------------ Create professional looking disk labels whether making backups of your favorite application or listing the files on your disks. Make up to 9 labels on one 8.5 by 11 inch sheet of label paper. Program is set up to use Avery 5196 or Z-Label 15195 9-UP precut labels (3 cents each). By changing KDL.INI, you can use any label paper, for any printer, as long as they are 2.75 inch by 2.75 inch labels. Requires VBRUN300.DLL Long Description: ------------------ Ken's Disk Labeler for Windows can create custom color labels that look like labels that come with commercial software because you can use bitmaps for borders, word art, pictures etc. Create labels containing file names by reading the disk. Move all those ZIP files from your download directory to floppy and put a label on it that lists the number of files, the number of bytes, the oldest file, the newest file and up to 80 file names. Put a title on the label that goes over the edge of the disk, and make your disk holder work for you instead of against you. Registration: $10. REQUIRES VBRUN300.DLL (NOT INCLUDED) that should reside in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. VBRUN300.DLL is available on most bbs because it is required by all Visual Basic 3.0 programs. ----------------------------------------------------------------- SETUP ----------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Copy the zipped file to any directory (EG: C:\KDL) 2. Unzip the file (EG: PKUNZIP KDL11B.ZIP) using PKUNZIP version 2.04G or later. 3. Move or copy CMDIALOG.VBX to your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. 3. Move or copy COMMDLG.DLL to your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. 5. In Program Manager, Click File/New/Program Item. (EG Command Line: C:\KDL\KDL.EXE) Try using the sample files that come with KDL.EXE by clicking File/Open and selecting a KDL file. Try opening MSWORD.KDL, then loading bit map (File/Load Bitmap) MSWORD.BMP. ======================================================================= PLEASE NOTE: The program/help refers to only Avery labels, and 1-UP labels. Recently I've found labels made by Z-Label that are half the price ($16). I bought Z-Label 15195 for inkjet printers (for my inkjet printer). The Avery labels($34) for laser printers, work fine in my printer. Both brands come with 70 sheets, 9 labels on a sheet. Z-label has 6 different models/types, and they all look like they could use the same INI file. I bought labels with color because they were out of the all white labels. The printing on the edge of the disk is hard to see on the labels that have dark blue edges. The Z-label INI file is very close to the Avery INI file. I moved the label down .05 inches. KDL11B.ZIP includes both AVERY.INI and ZLABEL.INI files. KDL.INI is a copy of ZLABEL.INI. If you change KDL.INI, you still have an original copy. Version 1.1B differences from 1.1: 1. Changed the ZLABEL.INI file 2. Fixed File Name label refresh after inserting new disks 3. File Name directory selection now a single click 4.
