WELCOME TO KANJI FOR FUN! and KANJI WRITER!

These products are shareware and contain the entire grade 1 set of kanji. If after a reasonable amount of time, you find these products useful, please register. To find out more, consult the on-line help for each program. To register on-line through Compuserve, see the REG.TXT file.

IMPORTANT: (before installation!)

Delete the directory containing any previous registered version of Kanji for Fun! or Kanji Writer! before installing. 

If you have previously installed Kanji for Fun!, Kanji Writer, Kana for Windows, or are adding additional modules, omit adding the "Visual Basic DLL and VBX files" located in Custom Installation.


**** TrueType Fonts ****

This program uses True Type Kanji fonts.
You must install the Kanji1 (True Type) font for Kanji for Fun! and Kanji Writer!. If you are not sure how to install this font, simply try to run Kanji for Fun! and the appropriate on-line help subject will open up and show you how, step-by-step.

If you have 120 True Type fonts or more installed on your system (i.e., you use CorelDRAW), you may see a significant decrease in speed when switching between modules. This may be corrected by removing some of the True Type Fonts that you don't use. Doing this will improve overall system performance and not just for these two packages (Note: the average person only uses < 10 True Type Fonts).



**** HELP ****

Both programs contains context-sensitive on-line help.  To access the help files, simply press F1.

It is recommended that you take a few minutes to look throught the help files. You can even print out a list of kanji for each module to help in your studying.



**** SOUND ****

If you have a sound device or PC-Speaker, you can hear the game sounds. If you donnot have a sound device and would like to use PC-Speaker, it is available on most BBSs.
