Well, I couldn't (though I didn't try very hard) but the music files got released later seperately as no-cc.zip (for C.C.Catch's stuff) and no-rc.zip I think, (for Ryan Cramer of course). I don't know if they're still up on the net, but I have the files on my HD if there's a need. ----------------- Date: Mon, 16 Jan 95 21:07 EET From: ST56G@Jetson.UH.EDU Subject: [KLF-TALK:703] Re: Do We Need Another Tracker ? > Yeah... it's called MIDI. (http preferable) ****NEWBIE ALERT!**** a few weeks ago I decided to see what kind of mod files were on the net... I hadnt heard a mod file in about 4 years (on an amiga at the time). I stumbled face first into the klf archive on freedom.wit.com and havent been able to get enuf since. My current setup is a SB AWE32(8mb on card) (no typo :), an olde yamaha DX7, MOD4WIN(rocks!), a midi interface box I hacked together from spare parts(schematics anyone?) and a free copy of Cakewalk apprentice I got w/ the system. Has anyone seen any decent mod players (like the gus has) for the SB AWE23 yet? I found one, but it was very buggy and quite lame. Anyone know if the people who wrote m4w are working on a mod editor for windoze? Has anyone seen any sound synthesis programs out there? I am currently using mathematica for win, which can turn its output into .wav files. I am still learning how to program in mathematica, so I have not been able to implement things like filter sweeps and echo/reverb yet. At this point I am still playing with square/sin/saw waves and doing some simple FM and phasing. Still, I would like to find some C libraries for reading/writing .wav or .raw files and churn out some programs to read the patch files of, and emulate popular synthesizers (like the DX-7) or do special effects. I have only one semi decent techno song done as yet (in general midi format) but I have a few ideas.. as soon as I get some time to sit down and work on them :P If anyone is interested in hearing it, just tell me where to upload it... I have not heard it on the gus yet, only the upgraded drum kit for the AWE32(the preset drums were wimpy). I better stop spamming for now... Yes, but when you remove Linux, you might have to "fdisk /mbr" to remove LILO (the LInux LOader) from the Master Boot Record of you hard drive, if you chose to install it there. I spent a day looking for that undocumented switch when I tried to remove Linux - lost me some (though unimportant) data... I did goof a bit, though. l8r -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - jester (Tobias Reckhard) jester@rbg.informatik.th-darmstadt.de FAQ maintainer for alt.binaries.sounds.mods Obtaining the FAQ: - finger jester@rbhp21.rbg.informatik.th-darmstadt.de - WWW http://grfn.org/~zaphod/absm-faq/index.html - send email to jester@rbg.informatik.th-darmstadt.de you speak to me in riddles and you speak to me in rhymes - Sarah McLachlan - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ----------------- Date: Tue, 17 Jan 95 23:51 EET From: Brian Scott Stucker Subject: [KLF-TALK:717] Re: EGG 2 > > > > Actually, you can get if fully free (except download time if your current > > > service charges you) - check out the sun distro ftp's, the original linux > > > archives are there... > > > > what is the name of the site? i should turn on slip and dl the whole > > thing overnight.. i wouldn't mind trying it out, having heard so much > > about it. > > > > is there a faq regarding how to do the multi-boot thingy? > > > > Chris Louth > > I'm not sure the actual name of the site, but here's the email adress of > my friend who did - he's got the multi boot thing set up for dos & linux > & other things too... it's meconlen@intnet.net Hope he can be of help... > > Satan Claus > > It's called LILO and you can get more help with it on Comp.OS.Linux.FAQ ----------------- Date: Wed, 18 Jan 95 00:02 EET From: Dan Nicholson Subject: [KLF-TALK:719] Re: KLF Music is Good Mood Setter for Games On Tue, 17 Jan 1995, Chng Ching Huei wrote: > Hi all KLF fans out there, I found a new way of enjoying the great music > by KLF members. > > Well, I recorded those nice ambient pieces on a casette tape, and play > them out loud when I'm playing the game DOOM from id's software! > > The effect is GREAT!
