Thank you for trying DiskWatcher, the network drive space monitor and analyzer. To use this upgrade, you must already have a DiskWatcher 3.0 installation diskette. If you don't, download DW30.ZIP from the MSNET, MSWFWG, WINSHARE, NOVUSER, or IBMHW forum on CompuServe, or obtain the disk from you shareware vendor. INSTALLING DISKWATCHER 3.1 If you are installing the upgrade, copy all the DiskWatcher 3.1 files onto the DiskWatcher 3.0 installation diskette. We recommend you make a backup of your installation diskette first. (If you installed DiskWatcher 3.0 from a directory on your hard drive rather than from a diskette, you can copy these files into that directory.) Place the installation diskette into your A: or B: drive, whichever is appropriate. Select "Run" from the Program Manager file menu. In the dialog box provided, type "A:\SETUP" and press the ENTER key. (If you are installing from a hard disk directory, enter the appropriate path.) You'll be asked where you are installing DiskWatcher from. If you are installing from the A: drive, press the ENTER key, otherwise, type the name of the drive or path and press the ENTER key. You'll be asked into which directory you want to install DiskWatcher. Either type a directory path in, or press the ENTER key to accept the default (C:\DSKWATCH). The setup program will install DiskWatcher and add the icons to your DiskWatcher group for DiskWatcher 3.1, DiskWatcher Lite, Disk Space Analyzer, and DiskWatcher 3.1 Help. You may delete any old icons in the group. ENHANCEMENTS AND CHANGES TO DISKWATCHER 1. Added DiskWatcher Lite. 2. Made a minor change to the function call which gets a Netware server and volume name for Netware drives to reduce the chance of GPF in NETWARE.DRV. 3. Added sorting options to the Disk Space Analyzer Window. 4. Changed the way Disk Space Analyzer reports are saved and printed to make them more informative. 5. Added the option to save Disk Space Analyzer graphs as metafiles or bitmaps. 6. Added the capability to use dynamic connections to connect to IBM and Microsoft servers, thus allowing one drive letter to be used for multiple resources. 7. Made the DiskWatcher Message Window just another child window within the parent Status Window. 8. Added options to save, print, or clear messages. 9. Any error, lost connection, or low-space condition automatically puts a message in the message window--it's no longer configurable. 10. Removed the "Drive Size" field from the Configuration Window. 11. Removed the Message options from the Configuration Window. 12. The program no longer attempts to fill in the Resource Name in the Configuration Window. It does fill in the UNC Name if the drive letter is already connected to a network volume. 13. Changed Warning Level from bytes to percentage. REGISTERING DISKWATCHER 3.1 See ORDER.TXT for instructions on ordering your registered version of DiskWatcher 3.1.
