DEXTER is a {B}premium quality{B}, super fast, full featured, multi-file text
editor which is compact and {B}easy to use{B}.  Its careful design throughout
makes it a highly productive tool, and a pleasure to use.  It has a
wonderfully readable and easy to use menu system which displays all hot
key options, and hot keys may be changed on the fly.  Context sensitive
help is available throughout.

There are basic word processing functions such as word wrap, paragraph
reformatting, indenting, print format codes (including {B}bold{B}, {U}underline{U},
{I}italics{I}, {Q}near letter quality{Q}, etc.), and printer selection, making
DEXTER suitable for any size documents not requiring a lot of special
formatting.  There are also lots of advanced features for programmers
such as multiple window editing, column blocks, macros, custom menus,
line drawing, and a pop-up ASCII table.  Another great feature for
programmers is the {B}Temporary Quit{B} option which allows you to exit to a
DOS prompt to compile programs.  Unlike a DOS shell, this option uses
no memory.  You may even turn off your computer and return later
exactly where you left off.

DEXTER also has many features which make it suitable for large
programming or text search applications.  A powerful active file list
will store up to {B}615 files at once{B}, and can be sorted 6 different ways.
A project's default file list may even be predefined, complete with
divide lines, so that the same unique list of files is loaded
automatically each time DEXTER starts up.  The search & replace menu
has a search scope that may be set to "ALL FILES".  This enables you to
interactively search through 615 files {B}of ANY SIZE{B} at one time, even in
limited memory.
