Mathstarters version 1.8 March 17, 1995 --------------------- Mathstarters was created for children who just can't get enough of math problems. This version provides unlimited addition and subtraction problems of single and double digit calculations and makes a great drill tool, similar to flash cards. Sorry for the size of the executable, but I haven't had the time to rewrite in a more suitable language. Mathstarters is a DOS program. To run, simply type Mathstarters and from the DOS prompt. Toggle keys at the top of the screen allow you to: F1 - Get Help for the current problem. I debated about providing the answer in the help screen. Your feedback regarding the pros and cons with your student would be helpful. This version provides the answer, as you will see. Also, for the single digit addition/subtraction, the help message uses a basic method for adding and subtracting-using fingers. If anyone has any suggestions about other ways to help the student, I would love to hear them. In any case, it is probably not a good idea to tell your student about this key until they need it, and even then, not to let them rely on it without trying to solve themselves first. F5 - This is a toggle key (alternates between choices each time hit) and allows student to alternate between addition and subtraction problems. F6 - Toggle key for the Sound (alternates between On/Off) F7 - Toggle key for difficulty level (alternates between 1 and 2 digit problems) F9 - The exit key I would love to hear any feedback you have regarding this program. The contributions benefit homeless people in the Brownsville, Bed-Stuy, East New York communities of New York. Any contribution would be appreciated (even $5).
