About Mike's Screen Saver Collection This is a collection of four screen savers for Windows: Melt, Smear, Hole, and Suck. Each screen saver has full password protection and has the ability of the user to change the speed of each effect. Melt will create the effect of melting your screen. You may change the direction the screen melts away, i.e. Down, Up, Right, or Left. Smear will create the effect of smearing your screen. You may determine the x & y sizes of the smear block, as well as the speed by changing the x & y offsets between each block smear. Try offsets of 1 for both x & y for a blatant smear. Small offsets combined with a large smear block creates a larger distortion. Experiment. Hole is similar to melt, but will melt the screen out towards all sides, leaving a hole in the center of the screen. Suck is the opposite of Hole, creating the effect of sucking the screen out a small hole in the center of the screen. I like this the best. Installing Mike's Screen Saver Collection Copy the *.SCR files to your Windows directory (Most likely C:\WINDOWS). From the Program Manager within Windows double click the Main folder. Within the Main folder, double click the Control Panel icon and then double click the Desktop icon. Open the list of names within the Screen Saver section of the Desktop and select one of the screen savers: Hole, Melt, Smear, or Suck. You can then click the Setup button to bring up the Screen Saver Setup screen. The Shareware Concept Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software before buying it.
