WinCID allows you to use the Caller ID (CID) capabilities of your modem to monitor the origin of incoming calls. WinCID will display the telephone number from which the call originated, the time the call was placed, and the date on which it was placed. If your telephone company encodes name information into the signal, WinCID will display the name of the owner of the telephone number from which the call was placed. Otherwise, you may attach a name to a telephone number for your convenience. In order to use WinCID, you must have: @ A modem which decodes Caller ID signals @ Caller ID service on the telephone line to which your modem is attached. WinCID is shareware (US$8 to register). The file wincid11.zip may be distributed freely, so long as no changes are made to it, and no fee is charged, other than a reasonable media charge.
