These instructions supplement and clarify the program documentation for SBT Pro Series, Version 3.0i. In case of a conflict between the information in the manuals and this file, you should use the information in this file. In addition, after starting Pro Series you should review the information under the Late-Breaking News help topic. Converting from Previous Versions ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As of its initial release, Pro Series 3.0 supports conversion from VisionPoint and Pro Series 2.5. Support for conversion from Series Six Plus, Series Seven, and Pro Series 2.0 will be available in the near future. Company 99 ~~~~~~~~~~ When you are setting up new companies, you can only use company numbers 1-98. Company 99, which is the sample data company, has been programmed to use the date of June 23, 1995. When you select Company 99, your system date is automatically set to June 23, 1995. This allows you to enter current- period transactions when trying out new features or training new employees. CONFIG.FPW Settings ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The MVCOUNT line in your CONFIG.FPW file should read as follows: MVCOUNT=1500 The CONFIG.FPW file supplied by SBT contains this setting. If you are running Pro Series for Windows on a computer with 16 Mb of RAM, your MEMLIMIT setting in CONFIG.FPW should be: MEMLIMIT=60,8192,10000 If your machine has more memory, you can increase these values. Refer to your FoxPro documentation for recommendations. Installing Pro Series 3.0 for Windows and DOS ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If you have purchased both the Windows and DOS versions of Pro Series 3.0, you can install both and then run Pro Series under either platform. To install both versions, you must first run either the DOS install program or the Windows setup program and complete the entire installation process for all the applications you are installing. You can install either version first. Once you have installed all of your applications, you can "activate" your installation for the other platform by running INSTALL (to add DOS support) or SETUP (to add Windows support). When you reach the main install screen, select EXIT. You do not need to reinstall all of your applications in order to activate the second platform. System Requirements - Hard Disk Capacity ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The hard disk capacity requirements for Pro Series 3.0 are as follows: Multi-User: > 16 Mb available for System Manager > 4 Mb available for each additional application Source Code (in additon to Multi-User requirements): > 13 Mb available for System Manager > 4 Mb available for each additional application Sample Data (Company 99): To install the sample data (Company 99), you will need an additional 11 Mb of available disk storage space. Running Under DOS ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Customer/Vendor/Item Inquiries: If you are running under DOS, press on the Inquiry Type field to display a list of all inquiries that are available. Once you have selected an inquiry type, press to display or print the inquiry you have selected. -: The - key combination (OS Access) is not available when you are running under DOS.
