Hi... This is the filter I promised. (Or at least an early version of it...) NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE THIS DRIVER IS STILL ALPHA/BETA SOFTWARE. NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE What is it: ----------- This filter allows you to use ext2-os2.ifs to read Linux ext2 filesystems, without having to edit the partition table. Also, this filter avoid the problem of changing drive letters (so no more 'unlucky'-guys as per ext2-os2 docs. Even if you linux partition was a primary partition. Only the CDROM drive's drive letter changes. (Can't do anything about that one...) Installing it: ------------- Copy ext2flt.flt into x:\, x:\OS2 or x:\OS2\BOOT directories, where x is the drive letter of your boot drive. Add the line BASEDEV=ext2flt.flt to your config.sys. If you installed ext2-os2.ifs previously then undo all the changes you made to the partition tables. (Change all the linux partitions' type back to 0x83). If you haven't installed ext2-os2.ifs yet, do so now. Source code: ------------ I plan on releasing the source code for this driver when it is closer to finished. I used Borland C 3.1 and Tasm to develop the driver. If something goes wrong: ------------------------ Your problem, not mine. I don't promise that is will work for you. If you have problems please mail me the output of the driver and a description of your problem, system setup, etc. At the moment writing to the linux partitions is disabled.
