If you are installing LAN Manager 2.2 from disks, onto your OS/2 2.x workstation ==================================================================== 1. install LAN Manager 2.2 as described in the Installation Guide. 2. to enable workplace shell support, edit CONFIG.SYS to add the following line after "IFS=\NETWKSTA.SYS", "RUN=\NETPROG\LMDAEMON.EXE". So, if your lanroot is C:\LANMAN, the lines in CONFIG.SYS should look like this: IFS=C:\LANMAN\NETWKSTA.SYS RUN=C:\LANMAN\NETPROG\LMDAEMON.EXE When the system comes up, a new folder, labeled "Networks" will appear on the desktop. The help provided with OS/2 will instruct you on making use of the Workplace Network Shell. 3. reboot as required in the installation process. ==================================================================== D. If LAN Manager 2.2 is already installed on your OS/2 2.x workstation ==================================================================== 1. copy SETUP.EXE into your lanroot, typically your \LANMAN directory. 2. copy NETWKSTA.SYS into your \LANMAN\NETPROG directory. If you choose not to install WorkPlace Shell support, skip to step 6. 3. copy LMDAEMON.EXE into your \LANMAN\NETPROG directory. 4. copy LMWORKER.DLL into your \LANMAN\NETLIB directory. 5. to enable workplace shell support, edit CONFIG.SYS to add the following line after "IFS=C:\LANMAN\NETWKSTA.SYS", "RUN=C:\LANMAN\NETPROG\LMDAEMON.EXE".
