Network Management Products Division 2180, Fortune Drive San Jose, CA 95131 NetWare Management Map (NMM) is the network management platform for Novell NetWare Management System (NMS) family of products. This is a maintenance release of platform for NMS. NMM v1.15A COMPATIBILITY: ------------------------- You can use NetWare Management Map version 1.15A to upgrade the NMS platform that is part of the following Novell products: 1. Novell NetWare Services Manager version 1.1, or 2. Novell Hub Services Manager version 1.0. CHANGES IN NMM v1.15A: ---------------------- FROM NMM v1.1 to NMM 1.15: Third-party application enabling changing to the platform. NOTE: The NMM v1.15 update was released in January 1993 from Novell to NMS third-party developers as part of the NMS Software Development Kit. These third-party developers are authorized to ship the NMM v1.15 update disk with their product to make the NMS platform compatible with their applications. NMM v1.15 to NMM 1.15A: Improved Alarm Manager Performance. Other internal bug fixes. The Alarm Manager throughput has been significantly been improved (approximately 100 times faster). The result is that Alarm Manager is now better able to keep up with bursts of SNMP Alarms that it may receive over the network. This fixes the problem that renders NMS Console unusable when significant number of alarms are received by it. NOTE: You must still configure the Alarm Disposition (using Fault>Alarm Disposition menu) to avoid logging alarms that you are not interested in. By default, NMM v1.15A will log all alarms in the database. HOW TO INSTALL NMM v1.15A: -------------------------- To upgrade the NetWare Management Map, follow these steps: 1. Shutdown NMS Console, Alarm Manager, SNMP Data Server, and NetExplorer Manager tasks. 2. Insert the "NetWare Management Map version 1.15A Update Disk" into A: floppy drive. 3. Run windows. 4. From Program Manager, use File>Run menu, run A:\SETUP. 5. Reboot the PC and restart NMS Console. For more information about this release or technical support, contact your Novell reseller first.
