                       Installation of Macros


 I. AmiPro 3.0 for Windows:

   This process will install an icon for DESCRIBE IT in the AmiPro for
   Windows tool bar and attach a macro to that icon, so that when clicked
   DESCRIBE IT will be launched or restored from a minimized state.

1. Copy the file in your Dscribit directory, "dscribit.smm" to the AmiPro
   subdirectory where Macros are located usually "X":\Amipro\Macros.
2. Copy the file "dscrbami.bmp" to the AmiPro Subdirectory where icons
   are located, usually "X"\Amipro\Icons.
3. Start Amipro.

 Setting up the Icon: 

4. From the main menus select "Tools", then choose the "Smarticons" 
   submenu.
  Smarticons Dialog Box:
  a. The last icon displayed in the "Available Icons" list box should be
     a two headed llama, a pushmepullyou.
  b. From the icons displayed in the "Default" list box or an icon group
     of your choice, pick an icon you want DESCRIBE IT to replace. If
     the one you picked is too far down the list it may not be displayed
     in the tool bar.
  c. Click on the DESCRIBE IT icon in the "Available Icons" list box.
     Holding the mouse button down, drag the icon to the one you want to
     replace and release the button.
  d. Click the "Edit Icon" Button.
  
Edit SmartIcon Dialog Box:
  e. From the "_Macros List box:" select dscribit.smm. This will put 
     "dscribit.smm in the "_Run macro:" edit box.
  f. Type a description of the program in the "_Description:" edit box.
     Example "Describe It".
  g. Click the OK button.

 Setting up the Macro:

5. From the "Tools" main menu select the "Macros" submenu.
6. From the "Macros" submenu choose "Edit".

 Edit Macro Dialog Box:
8. In the "_Macros:" list box find "dscribit.smm" and click on it.
  a. If you want to set a shortcut key combination, type one
     in the "_Playback shortcut keys: edit box."
     Example:  SHIFT+CTRL+D 
     Click the "Save" button.
  b. Click the "OK" button.

 Adapting the macro to your configuration:
9. If you DID NOT put DESCRIBE IT and its files into the directory 
   c:\dscribit the text of the dscribit.smm macro will have to be changed.
  a.The seventh line in the macro will read:
           Exec("C:\DSCRIBIT\DSCRIBIT.EXE",1)
    In AmiPro open the macro file "dscribit.smm" and change the drive
    letter "C:" and the directory "\DSCRIBIT\" to the letter of the drive 
    and the name of the directory where you installed the files of 
    DESCRIBE IT.
  b.Save the Macro by choosing "Save" from the File menu.
  c.Choose "Close" from the File menu.

You're done.  
 
You can put the icon in multiple tool bars by repeating the 
process. 

      
 II.Word Perfect 5.2 for windows:

    This process will install a button on the button bar of your choice
    and attach a macro to it so that when the button is clicked DESCRIBE
    IT will open. If minimized DESCRIBE IT will not be restored. As of 
    now I don't know how to do this.

NOTE:
     If you installed DESCRIBE IT in a directory other than c:\dscribit,
     you will have to change the macro. Edit the macro by opening
     "dscribit.wcm" in word perfect and change the third line that reads
     {"c:\dscribit\dscribit.exe"; Loword(1)}) to reflect the current 
     location of dscribit.exe.Leave everything else the same.
      
1. Copy the file in your dscribit directory named "dscribit.wcm" to the
   directory where Word Prefect stores its macros. This is usually 
   c:\wpwin\macros.
2. From Word Perfect's main menu select "View". Choose the "Button Bar 
   Setup" submenu and then the "Edit" submenu.
3. The "Edit Button Bar" dialog box appears.
    a. Click on the "Assign Macro to Button" Button.
    b. In the "Files:" list box find "dscribit.wcm" and click on it.
       Dscribit.wcm should appear in the "FileName:" edit box.
    c. Click on the "Assign Button" which will close the dialog box.
    d. In the "Edit Button Bar" dialog box click the "OK" button. 

    The button installed on the button bar is the same as if you had
    used the Word Perfect macro "gotodos.wcm" macro with the title in
    the button "Dscribit".

  You're done.

  Microsoft Word for Windows 2.0

  It is possible to write a macro to execute DESCRIBE IT from inside
Word for Windows. I don't have a copy of Word, so I didn't write
a macro. I believe you can attach the macro to a tool in the tool bar.
