Support for Way To Go! Program History Latest Info Requirements ------------ - Windows version 3.1 or higher - America Online for Windows 1.0 - VBRUN200.DLL, the Visual Basic 2.0 runtime library. This file can be downloaded from AOL as VBRUN200.ZIP. When you have this file, copy it to either your Windows directory or your Windows System directory. - 286 or higher (386SX or higher recommended, even if for WAOL by itself) - VGA resolution or higher What is Way To Go? ------------------ Way To Go! allows quick access to many America Online for Windows features. It allows you to quickly insert shorthand, macros, or sound commands into WAOL, have a goto list with more than ten items, quickly locate or send instant messages to your friends, and much more. WTG! also includes TimeWatch, a feature which will keep track of your time on AOL, and help you to conserve money. It is also shareware, a form of software distribution. You have 21 days to evaluate it. If you decide you like WTG! and want to keep using it after the evaluation period, you must register it (the registration fee is $15/$20), or stop using it. The registration form is available as REGISTER.TXT and is also included in the WTG! help file. Getting Started with Way To Go! ------------------------------- Take the following steps to correctly install Way To Go!, THE button bar for America Online for Windows: 1. If you don't have VBRUN200.DLL in your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory, copy it there, as Way To Go! needs it to run. 2. Start Microsoft Windows version 3.1 or higher. 3. From Program Manager, select the File menu and choose Run. If you have a shell other than Program Manager, such as Norton Desktop, use the run command for that shell. 4. Type the directory you unzipped Way To Go! to and WTGSETUP. For example: C:\WAOL\WTG\WTGSETUP 5. After running Way To Go! Setup, double click on the Way To Go! icon to start it. Have fun with it, and remember to register it if you use after the 21 day evaluation. At almost any time you need help, press F1 and Way To Go!'s help file will be shown. NOTE: Way To Go! Setup may not be able to a add a group to some shells other than Program Manager. If you have any trouble installing Way To Go!, you may install it manually. Add program items for all of the files included with WTG, except FILE_ID.DIZ. If you wish to add other configuration files, follow the instructions below. 1. Copy WTG.INI or any other configuration file to the new filename you want. 2. Add a program item for that configuration file. If you named your file JOLIE.WTG, the item would have the command line: C:\WAOL\WTG\WTG.EXE C:\WINDOWS\JOLIE.WTG (Substitute C:\WAOL\WTG with your WTG directory and C:\WINDOWS with your Windows directory) 3. Double click on the new item and setup your new configuration file with whatever settings you want. Latest Info on Way To Go! ------------------------- 1. TimeWatch: Due to a bug in WAOL version 1.0, Way To Go! sometimes has trouble detecting whether you are in a free area or a pay area. The bug occurs when you log off, in a free area, in WAOL. If you do this, please restart WAOL before logging on again, to assure Way To Go! will detect your free/pay area time correctly. 2. Please search for "Sending Special Characters" in the WTG! Help File for information on formatting your shorthand/sound items correctly.
