T H E R B B S - P C N E T W O R K (RBBS-NET) SysOps, You are receiving this message due to an interest in how to send mail from the Internet to RBBS-Net. RBBS-Net is fully coupled into the Internet. You do not need to know any specific gateways, just address the message correctly into the rbbs-net.org domain, and everything will be routed automatically. RBBS-Net addresses can be addressed in the basic format of: FirstName_LastName@fzz.nxx.zyy.rbbs-net.org zz= RBBS-Net Node xx= RBBS-Net Network yy= RBBS-Net Zone (Presently 8 is valid) Therefore, as an example, Don Smith resides at RBBS-Net address 8:965/1. His RBBS-Net Internet address is: Don_Smith@f1.n965.z8.rbbs-net.org Now how to you go from a RBBS-Net node to a internet style address? Just as easy, however, you need to route your message to the RBBS-Net/Internet Gateway at 8:914/201. For example, You would send a message to the user "uucp" at 8:914/201. In the first line of the text, you put the internet style address, followed by 2 returns, i.e. The addressing is in the form: To: user@site.domain For example, to send to my bitnet account of RBOWMAN @ SHARE.ORG, the RBBS-Net message would go to "uucp" at RBBS-Net address 8:914/201. The first line of text in the body of the message would be: To: rbowman@share.org If you have any furthur questions, please feel free to write. Thank you for your interest.
