* The Ants themselves Name ATK DEF MOV Drone 0 0 2 Worker 1 1 1 Soldier 2 1 2 Guardian 1 2 1 Queen 1 2 1 Each ant has the same basic statistics. The ATK (Attack) statistic tells how strong an ant is when attacking. The higher the number here, the more powerful its attacks can be. The DEF (Defense) statistic tells how formidable the ant is defensively. The higher the number here, the more difficult an attack will have to be to destroy the ant. The MOV (Movement) statistic is how many spaces per turn the ant can move. The higher the MOV, the quicker the ant. There are five kinds of ants in this game, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. These are given below. Drones are the lowest form of ant. In reality, drones mate with the queen to create new ants. In this game, they don't even do that. Drones are useful for gathering food quickly, but not much else. Workers are the grunt units. A worker ant is capable of defense and is useful for gathering food in enemy territory. Soldiers are the attack ants. They have a strong attack and are able to defend themselves. They can only gather food by cannibalizing the enemy. Guardians and the strong defenders, usually kept near nests. They are capable of attacking, though with a weaker ability than Soldiers. Like Soldiers, Guardians can only gather food by cannibilizing the enemy. Queens are the masters of the anthill. At least one queen is needed for the player to continue playing the game. Queens can gather and cannibilize, but their primary purpose is to create new ants. When a player loses his last queen, his game is over. * Attacking and Combat An attack is made when one ant moves into a space occupied by the enemy. Cubes are rolled to determine the victory of the attack. The attacker will his ATK rating, which determines how many cubes he may roll for his attack. This roll must be greater than the defender's roll for the attack to be successful. The defender uses his DEF rating which also determines how many cubes he may roll for his attack. This roll must be equal to or greater than the attack for a successful defense. Defender wins all ties. Whichever ant rolls highest survives and holds the space. Lastly, attacking a ant exhausts all of the attacker's moves. Example Attack: Red's Soldier has moved into a square occupied by Blue's Worker. This is an attack and is handled as follows: RED SOLDIER - ATK 2d6 The Red Ant rolls a two and a three, getting a five total for his two cubes. BLUE WORKER - DEF 1d6 The Blue Worker only rolls one die, getting a six. Since the worker rolled higher than the soldier, the worker wins and the soldier dies. The worker then cannibilizes the loser for one parcel.
