Wouldn't you know it a bad compile on the last compile before sending the program out! This is just a fix, now it will run!! Zbase 1.7 2/2/94 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.) FIRST PUBLIC RELEASE OF ZBASE. All beta testers may now put the Zbase17.ZIP available for download on your BBS! I hope the work will pay off, many long hours have gone into this program, my wife is starving for attention :) 2.) Man has the code size grown! Not the little program that it once was when I first started. There are almost 5000 lines of code written in Turbo Pascal for this program. There are quite a few changes to the program in this version, well worth the upgrade if you have been beta testing. I'm considering compiling a protected mode version if the need arises.. 3.) There is now an edit function for the callers. Zbase will now detect whether a caller has entered the BBS in the list and then let the user edit his entry. The list will display in short form if the user wishes to view. 4.) New Install program now for configuring your Zbase.cfg file! 5.) Touched up Ansi and RIP screens. New Data Entry screen for adding records. I think you'll like the changes! 6.) There was a problem with the delete function in the sysop menu. If you deleted a record the record would not always delete, should work just fine now. 7.) Another function for the sysop, a Truncate option, truncates the last Custom Menu Selection. 8.) There was a problem with the downloading, if a user viewed a BBS list then went to download the list, the download would halt, fixed.. 9.) If your a Registered user, your BBS Name will be displayed along with the Date List was compiled in the text file available for download in the Zbase directory. 10.) Added Un-Registered delay at startup :( There are NO crippled functions in this program only an UN-Registered delay.. Zbase 1.6a 1/26/94 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.) There is now a delete function for the Database listing, just choose the record number to delete and let it go.. 2.) I added the option to view the database listing from the Sysop menu, this makes it easier to delete or edit records. 3.) Fixed the problem with the Database list in RIP mode, scrolling for only 1-selection, then stopping. It now will show 4-records to the RIP user, like it was suppose to. 4.) Fixed the local database scroller, will now work correctly also. 5.) Touched up the Ansi Menus, looks a bit cleaner then before.. 6.) More RIP screens, RIP questions for the search and Add functions, are added, pretty much finished now with the addition of RIP! Zbase 1.5a 1/18/94 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.) Well I have been working on the RIP graphics protocol and have added yet more RIP to this version! Most of the functions can be operated in RIP now. All except for the Search and Add functions are RIP now! 2.) I was working on a terrible bug with my RIP graphics routines forever!!! Finally figured it out and can now start to go forward, look for more in the next version.. 3.) Fixed a small problem with the download function, didn't want to work on menu selection 1 and 3... P.S. I haven't forgotten about the (delete a record) function that is needed, just a little more and I think I'll have it.. Thanks again! Brad Larned Zbase 1.4a 1/5/94 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.) Fixed the empty custom list record bug! Was a stubborn one for me to find, this bug would make your screen scroll over and over if you went to the BBSlist menu and there was no custom list entry there yet. 2.) By popular demand I've added color to the Custom list's now! There is a multitude of colors displayed instead of the old one color list. Since there is not any text file formatted the same way, the list will simply display a different color every so many lines. 3.) I've installed a search function now that will search out any given string. This function will detect your custom list name and will search out the string in any of your custom list's, as well as the data base list. Listing all occurrences of the string. 4.) I've started the integration of RIP now! There is limited support in this version, only the (Main Menu) will display RIP so far. Look for more support in the next version. 5.) Beta testers remember, please do not place this file on your BBS for downloa d! This is only a limited Beta release and I do not want it distributed or any other Zbase releases distributed yet, thanks! 6.) No changes were made to the data structure so your old data files should work with no problem. Just copy this new Zbase.exe file to your Zbase directory and then edit your batch file, see #7. 7.) Zbase uses the graphical GSZ Zmodem, GSZ comes in this archive and can be left in the Zbase directory, or placed in your path somewhere. ****************************** IMPORTANT ********************************* 8.) You must add the New Zbase Environment variable to your batch file! Example : Set ZBASE=C:\MAX\ZBASE <--- Path to your Zbase directory or whatever you are calling it. Error checking is installed and Zbase will not start without it! Zbase 1.2a 12/17/93 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.) I've added the capacity for you to define up to 5-additional BBS list's in the New Sysop Menu. If you define these list's, you You have a maximum of 30 characters for your path and file name. 2.) I have also added new security measures, that will allow only you the sysop to see the Sysop Menu. YOU MUST ENTER YOUR NAME CORRECTLY FOR YOU TO ACCESS THE SYSOP FUNCTIONS! This is not a problem if you enter your name exactly as it reads in your config, CASE SENSITIVE! 3.) The sysop now sees who entered the record in the BBS database. Only the sysop see's the Record Number and Name. 4.) Corrected Bug in Editor. Now works correctly. 5.) More error checking added.. 6.) Will Now NOT accept a empty record! Only in the fields of Net address and comments will it accept an empty record. If the users enters an empty record in these fields, the program will enter in a pre-defined statement! 7.) Now correctly shows the Net address, hehe, no beta testers caught this one! 8.)
