Well, after having experienced no problems at all with a VIVA 2400 MNP5 running Wildcat 2.55 and now 3.02 successfully, i finally upgraded to a VIVA 9642e V32.BIS/V42.BIS Modem. The upgrade from 2400 to 9600 was quite enerving. I messed around for 3 days until i called Computer Peripherals (they make the VIVA) and then the Mustang support by voice. Those guys were really great. After a full hour of LD-Phonecall here is a REALLY WORKING SETUP for Wildcat 3.x with a VIVA Modem: Makewild, Modem setup part1: Line 1:Comm-Port: 1 2:IRQ 04 3:BASE-ADDRESS 03F8 4:RING USING: RING DETECT 5:BAUD RATE USING: RESULT CODE 1 6:INITIALIZE PORT: 19200 7:LOCK DTE Y 8:USE CTS/RTS Y 9:SECONDS BEFORE CARRIER 40 10:MS BEFORE ANSWERING 1000 11:MS TO LOWER DTR 2000 12:MS BEFORE PRELOG 1000 13:MS FOR RSULT CODE: 9000 14:MS FOR COMMAND STRINGS 2000 15:TRIGGER LEVEL 4 (OR 0) PART 2: 1. Error-correction is detected. Use those settings in combination with the NRAM file provided. It works. You might try some changes in the time-delays to speed up the modems answering.
