OK Gary ... and anyone else who may be interested. Here is the modem
information screen from my PCBoard v14.5a/E3 setup. I have not had any
difficulty with this setup once the last ROM upgrade was received.

You'll note the I elected to run my Speedmodem configured as COM 1 ...
the reason was simple ... I didn't want to have to play around with door
software, either to change it or determine compatibility. I also didn't
want to go through extra changes that would have been required for
external protocols.

This has not caused me any problems ... in fact one system has the
Speedmodem as COM 1 and a serial mouse installed as COM 2 ... again,
both operate with no difficulty.
