Supra Corp. -March 5th, 1993 Since the introduction of high-speed modems, it has become apparent that some telephone lines have a high level of "line noise." With those lines, it is often difficult to maintain high-speed communication. Supra has made several revisions to our firmware that have improved the capability of SupraFAXModems to communicate on lower-quality lines. Additionally, we have added the capability to fall back and/or fall forward in speed to compensate for line noise. These fixes have enabled many customers to achieve high-speed communication on lines that previously posed problems. Unfortunately, some customers still find that on some lines they are not able to achieve and maintain high-speed connections with SupraFAXModems. Tests show that in most cases, the SupraFAXModem is experiencing a high level of line noise. It is possible that another modem may work better in some cases. On the other hand, many users report Supra modems working better than other brands in poor conditions. We are currently working on some possible solutions that will enhance the operation of SupraFAXModems under marginal conditions. At this point we believe that it will be possible to enable SupraFAXModems to communicate on even more phone lines. At this point we can not provide specific information on how we will achieve this improvement or on when the solution will be available. But as soon as we have more details, information will be posted in this forum.
