---------------------------------------------------------------------- [MAKE BACKUPS MAKE BACKUPS MAKE BACKUPS MAKE BACKUPS MAKE BACKUPS] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BE SURE TO SET YOUR WCNODEID even if you are running single line. Single line users should put this line in their autoexec.bat SET WCNODEID=1 To upgrade pre-version 1.04 versions... you need to write down your regist- ration number and delete SYSTEM.CFG. Run CHGSETUP.EXE and re-enter all of your information, including your registration number. OR you could grab a copy of 1.04 and upgrade to that, then upgrade to 1.05.... (more work) To upgrade version 1.04 to version 1.05 you need to copy the EXE files ONLY over the existing EXE's. WCCHARGE.EXE and CHGSETUP.EXE. Run CHGSETUP.EXE and check your system.cfg file. CHECK all of your data and correct any that needs corrected or added. RIP: If you are using RIP you will need to create your rip screens hello.rip, logoff.rip ordered.rip hello2.rip etc. The RIP menus are hard coded into version 1.05. Just like Wildcat does, WC-Charge will check for the existance of both txt or rip display files. If the caller is logged on and has selected RIP or auto-detect in his Wildcat Setups, then WC-Charge will send him RIP screens and display files if they exist. If they do not exist WC-Charge will send the TXT counterparts and put a rip frame around them. DRAGON BBS: If you are using DRAGON BBS to process your charges, you no longer need to put a hello2.txt/rip up since i have hardcoded a DRAGON display that will show to the caller right after the hello.txt/rip screen shows. You can now use hello2.txt/rip for anything else you want. If you don't want to use it then don't.... WC-Charge will ignore it if it doesn't exist. WC-Charge will continue to create the needed file that you can upload to Dragon BBS. ( BBSCHRG.CHG ) When you call to set up with DRAGON, make sure you tell them that you are using WC-Charge version 1.05... We have included information and a contract in the DRAGON.ZIP file found in this archive. GENERIC DOOR.SYS: If you are using WC-Charge on an older type of Wildcat, or a BBS other than Wildcat, you must be able to create a DOOR.SYS file in a directoy off of your WCHOME directory in a wcwork/node# directory. EXAMPLE = C:\OTHERBBS\WCWORK\NODE1\DOOR.SYS We have not been able to test this very much, so i would appreciate if you would let me know how it is working... assuming you are using this feature. If you are confused at all about this, then give me a call and we can see if we can get it running with your system. NOTE: WC-Charge will NOT attempt upgrades to callers levels when used as a generic door.sys program. TABS: If you are using TABS services you must place your tabs numbers in the WC-Charge directory. The numbers list must be called NUMBERS.LST. WC-Charge will keep you posted as to how many numbers you have left when it writes to the WC-CHG.LOG file and when it sends LASTCHG.# to you. Tabs is so easy to set up that i am not going to waste any time on it.. Just run CHGSETUP and (IF YOU HAVE WC-Charge Registered) you can select [T]abs setup and follow the prompts. I included my hello#.bbs screen called TABS.BBS that you might want to use to advertise your Tabs service. Tabs may be contacted at: FREE SIGN-UP 1-800-755-TABS FREE FOR SYSOPS Tell them you are using WC-Charge for a quick setup!! FRESHEN: Freshen of the security file is now automatic and you don't need to do any- thing about it. If Tomcat has the file locked, CHGSETUP will make a few tries and give up. SUMMARY: This version of WC-Charge and CHGSETUP.EXE compromise a great deal of work! MANY MANY hours have gone into it and i hope it will come up to your expect- ations. If you find any problems, please let me know at once. We can do quick fixes 'IF' we know about the difficulties. Much thanks to those registered users who were brave enough to download and test the program as it went through all of its growth from 1.04 to 1.05. This Upgrade is FREE to registered users ... even though it is a MAJOR REWRITE of much of the code. Read over the docs and if you have a question, GIVE ME A CALL. We also have a support conference for GlassWare SoftWare on our BBS at (215) 376-1819 where you can ask questions. We also have some RIP and TXT screens you might be interested in using. If you come up with some snazzy stuff, why don't you upload it to the GlassWare SoftWare file area of The Glass Meangerie... As usual, voice support is available at (215) 376-7768. Ask for Allen. If i'm not available leave a message on my answering machine and i will get back to you. Share the wealth!! Keep On Charge'n Allen
