             1.5 Features of an expert system

The following list of features are desirable in any expert system.

Useful: The system should meet a specific need.
Usable: The system should function so that even a novice computer user finds
it simple to use.  It should be able to respond to simple questions.
Educational: The system should allow non experts to increase their expertise.
In a similar vein, the system should be able to explain the reasoning behind
its advice to allow the user to determine the validity of the advice.
Adaptable: The system should be able to learn new knowledge.
