#1 1.7 The Semantic Network The most general and oldest artificial intelligence scheme for representing knowledge is the semantic network. A semantic network is a collection of objects called nodes. The nodes are connected together by links. Ordinarily, both the links and the nodes are labelled [4]. A drawing of a semantic network contains bubbles to represent the nodes, and lines connecting the nodes to represent the links. Both nodes and links are labelled.
