========================================================================= || The Hack Report || Notes on the for August 1993 || August, 1993 Issue || ========================================================================= I am continuing to study the possibility of distributing The Hack Report via diskette in addition to its current means of distribution. This is purely a PRELIMINARY study, as I am not yet sure if I want to take the plunge into mailing out disks. If this becomes a reality, I will need to impose a charge to cover the costs of mailing, supplies, etc. Everyone would still be able to obtain The Hack Report for free via BBS systems, of course: I write it as a free public service and will always do so. If you would be interested in obtaining The Hack Report via mailed diskette, please let me know via FidoNet NetMail or Internet e-mail. My addresses are listed above. No subscriptions will be accepted at this time, so please don't give me your mailing address yet. I'm simply testing the waters to see if there is a demand. Do ***NOT*** reply in one of the echos I monitor and/or moderate: the moderator won't take it too kindly if you do. Also, please try not to send your replies via any of The HackWatchers, since they are busy enough with their regular duties. Once again, this month's issue fell victim to nasty system bugs on both my computer and myself, so there was a delay of about half a day in getting it out. I feel that it is more important to publish an issue that is complete and accurate than it is to put out a half-done job. However, I do apologize for not being able to do the job on time. If you are reading this in one of the FidoNet echos and had difficulty trying to F'Req the file, please contact me via NETMAIL ONLY - I will send you a copy on my dime. Thank you for your continued support, and for helping to keep shareware clean! Lee Jackson, Moderator, FidoNet Intl Echos SHAREWRE/WARNINGS (1:124/4007)
