Voice: 1-206-781-7754 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- "This Association is dedicated to the skeptics that said that Modem Taxes could never happen and could never even be enforced" The "International Association of Modem Users" or "I.A.M.U." has been created as a resource for all Modem Users. The Association's primary mission is to verify and monitor reports concerning government attempts to "tax", legislate or otherwise, interfere with the free flow of electronic communications between Modem Users. This Association and It's Members believe in a right to communicate freely across the breadth of the "Global Electronic Community" without interference, taxation or regulation by entities that desire to tax, regulate or control electronic communications through legal devices that have not been introduced by way of specific public demand in the form of a public referendums, petition or general vote by the citizens that will be affected by such taxes, regulations or controls. The secondary mission of the Association, is to report on the actions of any entity that threatens the viability of any "hobbyist" Bulletin Board Service or System (BBS) that provide for electronic communications by Modem Users, as distinguished apart from the larger "on-line" systems that offer "on-line" products and services for profit.
