Wife was in the hospital for surgery, and work was, well WORK! :-) I just attatched the latest text file for the nodestub. So If you're ready to go, I suppose you can start on Monday. THe "deadline" is Tuesday night before midnight, but since I was having some problems in getting through to 105/0 I moved it up to Monday at 2100. Here's what I've been doing... The cutoff I set for the Central nodes was 1800 on Monday... I would get a node number application/change (either directly from the node or forwarded from Lisa). I would then check it over for completeness. Then I would fire up my trusty text editor and edit HUB1000.lst, looking for an empty number. And enter the new node data on the empty number line (MAKE SURE that the commas are at the end of each "field"). Next I would either use BONK and add the new node to my compiled nodelist -OR- run MAKENL to update the nodelist (and recompile the resulting NODELIST.999 (this way I can use the mailer to call the new node before the new 'diff comes out.) Then I used MSGED to enter a message to the new node. I used the text file NEWNODE.TXT as a "form letter". If I didn't get a response back from the new node by the "deadline" I would just comment the line in HUB1000.lst before I ran it on Monday night. That's about it for the nodestub part. A couple of "tips", when you get a new application, you might want to call the BBS number given on the phone and see if you get a modem... Be REAL careful when you enter the phone numbers, it's easy to transpose the digits.. You'll probably need to change the wording of NEWNODE.TXT and have them send NETMAIL to both you (as confirmation) and to me for a Echomail hub assignment. As far as the 'diff distribution, I was using AUTOSEND to send them out, dunno if it works with DB though. If you end up with 3 diffs piled up for a node, mark it as DOWN in the nodestub. I usually see if I have any still undelivered on Sunday and call the number on the phone to see if I get a TelCo "disconnected" message, if I do I mark them DOWN right then. I should be around today 'til 1400 then I'll be leaving for L.A. be back late Friday night... Mike ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
