I've just uploaded the rewrite of a program I wrote three years ago named "FONECALL.ARC". FONECALL! works with your answering machine and pager to alert you of incoming calls while you are away from the phone. Consultants on the road who use a home answering machine will quickly know when clients have called their answering machine. Businesspeople who carry a pager for their jobs can use the same pager to immediately know when a message has been left at their home. . I work from home and use a similar method whenever I leave the office (you know, to go grocery shopping, play golf, or play in the yard.. ) . Think of FONECALL! as a long distance telephone ringer extension. Regardless of where I am I know when my clients call and I can call them back moments after they leave a message. When I'm in my car I can call my answering machine and save money listening to a 50 second message instead of having clients call me directly running up my carphone bill. . HOW IT WORKS: 1) Tell FONECALL! your pager's phone number and modem information. 2) Leave your answering machine and modem attached to the same phone line. 3) FONECALL! will wait until the message has been left and then it will use the modem to call your pager. FONECALL! resets itelf after each call and logs the date and time of each incoming call on the screen. . I have another program "REMOTE CONTROL" that I'm putting the finishing touches on and should be ready in a couple of days. REMCTRL is memory resident and allows your computer (and your selected communications software) to share a phone line with a FAX MACHINE or ANSWERING MACHINE. You can call in from the road and get your computer. Clients and others will only get your fax or answering machine.
