Galahad version 1.04 -------------------- Galahad is a blinker/front-end for BIX. BIX (the Byte Information eXchange) is an online service that offers conferencing, file areas, E-mail and Internet access to its users. The BIX community is small but of very high quality. The signal to noise ratio in the conferences is very high and the atmosphere is very friendly. Galahad allows the BIX user to read and respond off-line to E-mail, Conference and Netnews messages as well as select files for download. Once the user is ready to upload his messages, and download the new ones Galahad will logon to BIX and transfer at high speed the data and disconnect. How to install -------------- Unpack the distribution archive from the DOS prompt or by using your favorite utility. Then select file-run from the program manager and locate the setup.exe file. The setup program will prompt you where to install the files as well as create a program group with the startup icon. Operating systems ----------------- Galahad has been tested under Windows 3.x, Windows95, WindowsNT 3.x, OS/2 2.x and OS/2 Warp (3.0). Free trial ---------- You can try Galahad *and* BIX for free for a limited period of time see the instructions in the help file on how to do that. Distribution of this archive ---------------------------- Galahad is shareware and can be distributed freely. Everybody is encouraged to make the software available on bulletin boards or other electronic means of distribution. You may not charge for the software, but a small fee to cover distribution fees is acceptable. How to contact the author ------------------------- The preferred method to contact me is in the BIX conference windows.supp/galahad. I can answer your questions there but there are also many other BIXen that will be able to help you. If you need to contact me personally send E-mail to jvanwater@BIX.com and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Enjoy, Jean van Waterschoot (jvanwater@BIX.com)
