In order for this program to work correctly you will
need to install all the files contained in the .zip 
file into a directory called "Euphoria" and associated
subdirectories. The program "vgset1v1.exe" will do this
for you as well as set up a Voices Galore program group
in Program Manager. To execute this program either run
it from the Program Manager File Menu or "double click" 
on "vgset1v1.exe" in File Manager

*** RUNNING THE PROGRAM ***
You can then run Voices Galore in the usual manner from
Windows or by executing vgalore1.exe which will be found
in the "euphoria" directory. Operation of the program
should be self explanatory. After beginning the program
you simply have to "click" on the panel which says "Click 
here to start". You will then need to chose a male or female
voice, followed by the type of sound event or voice
you wish to change. You will then see a list of available
choices. Chose one and the "Play" and "Install" buttons
will become enabeled. You can then listen to the voice
or sound with the "Play" button, and if you wish to 
install it, simply hit the "Install" button. You should hear
a voice which says "sound installation complete". That's
all there is to it. You can install one type of voice 
right after another simply by chosing male or female and
then the type of sound or voice event.


This program has been tested on a number of different 
machines. The most common problem we have found is an
out of memory problem for some audio drivers. If you
develop such a problem first try and shut down all other
programs you are using under windows. Occasionally you
might just have to re-attempt the operation (playing  
the chosen voice file). Voices files tend to be large
and the OLE that allows this program to function can
sometimes be slow, especially on 386 machines. If you
run into any other problems with either installation or
operating this program, we have not seen them and would
appreciate you making us aware of them.

If you are running this program unders Windows 3.1, it
might be necessary for you to add the code

c:\dos\share.exe

to your autoexec.bat file. If you are experiencing
problems, try this as well.

Also, this version of the program does not come with
vbrun300.dll. This .dll should be in your

c:\windows\system

directory or in the c:\euphoria directory for this
program to run.

Voices Galore will send you 8 new voices for any bugs
you discover (as well as debugged software). Please let
us know the following about your set up if you encounter a 
bug.

1. Type of computer
2. Processor (386, 486, Pentium, etc.)
3. Clock Speed (33mhz, 60mhz, etc.)
4. Sound Card
5. Copy of config.sys
6. Copy of autoexec.bat

for Voices Galore but also future upgrades.
