To install winwebster, COPY the file wwebster.exe to a directory in which you will always have write permission (I am storing the .ini file in this directory). Check to see whether the file ctl3dv2.dll is in your Windows system directory. If not, MOVE the file ctl3dv2.dll to your \windows\system directory. Create a program manager item as usual or if you want to try my desktop for Windows (dwm) ftp to stoner.eps.mcgill.ca and grab dwm103.zip from the /pub/windows directory. Note that a beta version also exists in the beta subdir but that dwm103.zip files must first be installed. Run wwebster.exe. The first time you run the program you will be prompted for a server host and port. Enter the host value as a dotted numeric address (eg. 555.111.222.333) and the port value as per usual (eg. 160). If all goes well you should now be able to use the server dictionary. Send bug reports to steeve@stoner.eps.mcgill.ca. See the file readme.txt as well. NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE: Make sure the file ctl3dv2.dll is NOT NOT NOT in the same directory as the executable file (wwebster.exe). Make sure it is in the windows system directory (usually c:\windows\system).
