Hints for PrintShop by Broderbund Software 8/21/86 IBM PC Version A) Changing a file that has been saved under PrintShop: 1) Select from the Main Menu the Card, Letterhead, Sign, or Banner section. When you are in the desired section select the "From Disk" option. A list of the designs you previously created will come on screen. Select the one that is to be changed and press the return key. 2) After making the selection, at the top of the screen it should say : "Something : PRINT". If you see this press the ESC key to back up to the "MAKE A CHOICE" menu. Select the "DESIGN YOUR OWN" option and press the return key. 3) Now you can change the design as you like. Use the same commands as they are normally used. If you don't want to change a font, graphic, or border just press the return key and it will remain the same. If you have used a picture from the Graphics Library, you must reselect the picture even if it is not to be changed. When in the text entry mode, you can edit the wording as you would normally. To leave it unchanged just press the Return key until the cursor is at the bottom or press the End key once. Remember to save the changes you have made. B) Using more than one font when in Screen Magic: 1) Type in your lines of text with the first font. 2) Press the Return key to continue. Now you should be in the "SELECT ACTIVITY" menu. Select "DRAW TEXT ON SCREEN" and press the return key. Now you are asked if you want to draw on "SCREEN IN MEMORY" or on a "BLANKED SCREEN". Select "DRAW IN MEMORY" and press return. 3) Your original text will be displayed. Press the Return key and you can now choose a new font. After choosing a new font your original text will appear. Press the F8 key to erase each line of the old text. Note that you should not type new text on the same line(s) as the old text was on. After entering your new text, both the new and original will be displayed. If you centered the original text do not center the text you just have entered. You only have one font per line of text. Feel free to experiment, the worst that could happen is that you have to start all over again. Note : When the screen is printed the whole screen is printed only on the top or bottom half of a 8.5" x 11" page. An example file using more than one font is included - TEST.PIC ****************************************************************************** Note: When choosing a picture you can use the PgDn and PgUp keys to move by screenfuls at a time instead of by lines at a time. I hope that this information is useful to someone. Michael M. Cherson, Compuserve ID 72467,400
