    This program redefines the <alt> function keys while in DOS.

    In order to invoke this program you have to boot up with config.sys.
  Let config.sys contain

         device=ansi.sys

    You must have a ram drive or a hard drive.

    Simply create a ram drive (it must be drive C) then copy:

         CHKDSK.COM
         FORMAT.COM
         SDIR22.COM  - a useful sort utility for a directory listing.

to drive C.

    Then place the diskette that contains Fkeys.com in a drive and
type:

         [d:]Fkeys

Where d is a drive letter containing the Fkeys program.


    The re - definement of the function keys are as follows:


  <alt>  F1 = DIR A:/P
  <alt>  F2 = DIR B:/P
  <alt>  F3 = DIR C:/P
  <alt>  F4 = C:SDIR22
  <alt>  F5 = DIR/W
  <alt>  F6 = C:FORMAT
  <alt>  F7 = C:CHKDSK
  <alt>  F8 = COPY
  <alt>  F9 = DEL
  <alt>  F10 = EDLIN

    Then hit <alt> F1 - F10 to get the command requested.

 Run Fkreset as this will set your <alt> function keys back to normal.
