The following screens will help you set up The Printing Press for your disk drive and graphic card configuration. It will include a few questions as well as some explanation. If you would like more information about setting up The Printing Press, consult the hardware setup section in the on-line instructions. } Type the drive (A, B, C, or D) you'll be using for your data disk- the disk you use to store your designs or supplementary art disks such as Graphic Library II. } 1 - No Compatible Graphics Card 2 - Color Graphics Card or Medium Resolution (640 X 200) Monochrome Compatible graphics cards include: IBM CGA IBM EGA Hercules Color. Computers with this type of card built in include: Tandy 1000 Compaq AT&T 6300 Leading Edge Model D 3 - Hercules Monochrome & Compatible cards } Now that you have configured for your disk drive and graphics card, YOU MUST CONFIGURE THE PRINTING PRESS FOR YOUR PRINTER. To do this: 1. Choose "Hardware Setup" from The Printing Press Main Menu. 2. Choose "Select Printer". 3. Choose the printer selection model most appropriate for your model printer. 4. Make sure your printer is on, on line, and connected properly, then choose "Test Printer". } The following are possible results from the printer test: 1. If the printer locks up or prints gibberish consult the Printing Problems section in the online instructions. 2. If there are skips between lines try the "CR ONLY" option, then retry this printer test. 3. If it is printing on the same line over and over again choose the "CR with LF" option and retry this printer test. 4. If the message "I'm having trouble running the printer driver!" appears at the bottom of the screen, try selecting a printer. 5. If the printer prints a Christmas tree then you are done setting up and should choose the "Quit" option. }
