The Future -- Next PC-Hypertext Update ====================================== This version of PC-Hypertext is scheduled for replacement in a few months. While the file format for linking files and nodes will remain unchanged, I see a number of additions I'd like to make to the program. For example: (1) Make PC-Hypertext memory resident for faster DOS/program calls (2) Include a file editor in PC-Hypertext (3) Display previous node/file traversal to flag familiar information (4) Include more graphic formats (5) Add segment selection on graphic displays (by mouse or keyboard) (6) Add smooth ASCII screen scroll (horizontal and vertical) (7) Add video buffers for faster display of graphic files As with all software design, each of these issues include non-obvious penalties (in code size or loading speed). However, as I do want to extend this software concept, please call me to describe both your uses of and desires for additional capabilities in PC-Hypertext.
