Subj: Citoh/Imagewriter bi-directional Date: 91-03-30 22:38:02 EDT From: GWRepBruce File: CITOH2.ZIP (2647 bytes) DL time (2400 baud): < 1 minute Download count: 12 AUTHOR: Geoworks (modified by GWREPBruce EQUIPMENT: Usual GEOWorks stuff and applicable printer NEEDS: unzip and move to \geoworks\system Zipped this time to ensure that it is uploaded properly. Apparently, the first upload was either an unexplained glitch in the phone lines, or something about the Printer driver makes it unable to be uploaded to AOL directly as it exists in the \GEOWORKS\SYSTEM directory. This time, I zipped and unzipped it and it still works, so PLEASE GIVE IT ANOTHER TRY IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS FILE. Leave e-mail to GWRepBruce immediately if you cannot get your PREFERENCES\PRINTER\INSTALL NEW window to list files such as Citoh2 8510, Apple2DMP , NEC2 8023 etc. ------------------------------------------------------------- Only one byte was edited to make this a bi-directional printer driver instead of uni-directional. Saves wear and tear on printer, and may even speed up printing slightly. In the low-quality mode, you will notice some alignment problems in vertical lines. When used in High-Quality mode, the double pass printing takes care of the alignment problems quite well,( I mostly use the double-pass printing for final output anyway). I have only used this on an Apple Imagewriter, but it should also work on the other printers listed on the standard Citoh 9-pin driver. This is not supported by GEOWORKS..any problems should be addressed to me. I have been using this for a few months with no problems. In the preference window, install this driver, then if you do not like the numeral "2" I added to distinguish this from the standard printer driver, you can edit the name that will appear in print menus to read something like Apple <-> DMP or C.Itoh <-> 9 pin. Whatever you like. Hope this is of some use to a few of you! And leave me mail if you want to discuss how it is modified. I am not a programmer by any stretch of the imagination, but I do like playing around with editing existing stuff when I can !
