These HP DESKJET 500 utilities are put into the public domain by a greatful 
self taught hobbiest.  I've learned so much from my BBS and all its cooperaters
that my debt can be acknowledged but never repaid.  This is a small install-
ment.

I just bought a HP DESKJET 500 and thought it was high time to learn to talk
to my printer.  After all I had been taking my EPSON LQ800 for granted for 
five years.  Maybe that's why it quit?

The enclosed utilities were written in QUICK BASIC 4.5 and compiled.I have 
the *.BAS for anyone interested.  The utilities are:

CGTIMES.EXE - This will load the CG TIMES proportional font into your DESKJET.
The pitch is 10 and the type 12 point.  As with both these programs your 
printer will continue in this state until the RESET button is pressed or the 
printer shut off.  On restarting of, course, the defaut 12 point, 10 pitch,
upright style, normal stroke weight COURIER will be found.

LTRGOTH.EXE - Installs the 12 point 12 pitch LETTER GOTHIC typeface.
