The first time the user runs your program, they will be prompted with a code entry number. The code entry number is different each time the user loads the program. This will keep the user from writing down your unlock codes and using them again. The application will then tell them to call you to receive a protection unlock code. 4. You simply load PROPLUS.EXE and bring this user's record up on the screen, press the F3 key and enter their code entry number. PROPLUS will then tell you the code to "add protection." When they enter the code, they will have complete protection. They can never re-use the unlock code because it changes every time they load their program. All unauthorized copies of your program will no longer work and PROPLUS will even let you know if they are trying to install your program again on a different computer once it has been installed. Install your program as a DEMO! 1. If you entered a demo expiration date in your client's record of the PROPLUS.EXE database, you are in effect telling the program to stop on that day. This is a real easy way to generate sales. After your user has been using your program for 30 days FREE, they may have loaded so much data that they can't live without it. When it stops working they will rush you out a check to pay for it. 2. Oh, so you ask, What happens when your users keep backing up the date and time on their computer? Can they fool PROTECTION PLUS? The answer is simply NO WAY! If the user tries to back up the date, The PROTECTION PLUS code is designed to catch them. The program knows when you started your program as well as ended your last session. Each time your program is used, the window for usage gets smaller and smaller until they must purchase your program. 3. If your user would like you to unlock them again in the demo mode for a few more days or a week or even a month, they can call you to get an unlock code. This way they can continue to use your program while they send you your payment. 4. REMEMBER! It's no longer a demo, but it is still very copy- protected. Speaking of PAYMENTS! 1. Do any of your clients pay your company payments or lease your software? If they do, you will like this. As you are adding a user to your PROPLUS.EXE database, simply make them a Payment CLIENT and tell it what day each month the payment is due. This will insure strict compliance with your payment agreements. 2. Each month you will give them an unlock code that will advance them to the next month. If the payment day falls on a Saturday or Sunday, they will have full use of the program until the following Monday. 3. Once their payments have been completed, you simply give them a special code that will unlock them forever. 4. REMEMBER! It's no longer locking for payments monthly, but it is still very copy-protected. And if that ain't enough! PROTECTION PLUS allows you to customized 18 extra codes that may be used in your programs. IE: o You can have hidden procedures in your program that require an unlock code to access them. o If your user forgets their password, they can call you and receive a code to unlock the password. o If you don't want your users to have the ability to change certain information, you can tell them to call for special access to that info.
