Do you want to make your own verified ZIP files but you don't want to wait days
or maybe weeks to get your authentication code? Now you can make your own! No
forms to fill out and no registration required. All you need are these
programs.

              MAKEAV.EXE
              PKUNZIP.EXE
              PKZIP.EXE
              PUTAV.EXE

The first one is with this doc file and the rest are from PKware inside the
PKZ110.EXE file. Put those four files in a directory somewhere. It'll go a LOT
faster if you use a RAM disk and save wear and tear on your system. Now run
MAKEAV. It will ask you for your company name. Whatever you answer will show up
as the authentic verified author of the ZIPs you create.

Let MAKEAV run over night. In the morning you should have a copy of PKZIP that
makes verified ZIPs for you. If it didn't finish in one night hit any key and
it will stop. Run it again the next night. It will pick up where it left off.
IF YOU ARE USING A RAMDISK there is a file MAKEAV creates called TRY. MAKEAV
needs this file to resume so save it on your hard disk when MAKEAV isn't
running and then copy it back to the RAM disk before restarting MAKEAV.

MAKEAV isn't being real smart about this. It just tries numbers in sequence
until it finds one that works. This isn't as bad as it sounds. A slow 386 with
a RAM disk can check out three to five codes a second and there's a lot more
than one possible code for any given name so it usually doesn't take more than
one night to get a code. Here are some codes to get you started.
