SPECIAL TIPS

   The keys used to control the Music Transcription System have been
carefully selected so that they are easy to learn and efficient to operate. 
To accommodate different keyboard layouts, several alternative keys can be
used as outlined below:

   1)  The F10 and * keys can be used as substitutes for the Esc key
   2)  The / key can be used as an alternative to the = key
   3)  On most computers, the Shift Up and Shift Down keys can be used
       to change note durations in the Enter Melody option of the Create menu

   On many keyboards, using the * key as an alternative for the Esc key and
the / key as an alternative to the = key will allow you to operate most
functions without moving your hand away from the right hand keypad.
