#$$ Starting the tutorial

To ensure that complete sets of instructions are visible without
needing to scroll the color editing panel I have had to cram things in
a bit.  Sorry.

Please scroll down until the line "*Ä Important: ÄÄ" is at the top.

#$$ ’’Coloring a message panel

 2 Tap <F3> again.  Tap <->> until the arrow is above the '*' then <F6>
   and <->> until the second '*' has been painted, then <F2> to save.

 3 Tap <F8> four times to copy the line's attributes to the next line.

 2  Now scroll until "*Ä Important: ÄÄ" is once more at the top.  Tap
    <F3> twice to pass through color selecting to moving, then <->>
    until reaching 'I'.  Tap <F6> to paint and <F7> to turn on flashing
    then <->> until ':' is flashing, then <F2> to save.

    select 59, <F3> again, move to '*', <F6> to paint and <->> twice to
    color border beginning, <F6> to toggle back to moving and <->> to
    the next 'Ä', <F6> and <->> until '*' painted, then <F2> to save.

 3  See if you can work out how to do the other lines of the panel.

#$$ ’’Let's see what that looks like
You can now see the result of your labours as it would appear in your
application's help screen by tapping <F1> and then using <PgDn> or
<PgUp> to move from page to page.

Note that you can tap <F1> to check final appearances at any time while
you are working on your help file.

By now you're probably getting the hang of it.

You will have noticed that the actions performed by the function keys
you have been pressing are listed at the bottom of the screen.  Please
refer to the CLIPHELP.DOC file for a full explanation of their use.

#$$ Finally, a few tips

 1  When you work on your help file for real, don't forget to use the
    'Rewrite Text' option after each occasion of using the 'Edit
    Colors' option to incorporate the results of your color editing in
    your HELP.TXT file prior to next using your ASCII processor.

 2  Have a look at TUTORIAL.TXT file as included in the original suite
    of files to see how simple it is to lay out a basic HELP.TXT file.
    Note in particular the way topic titles are indicated.

 3  If you wish to indent topic titles as has been done in this
    tutorial use a few CHR(255)s - spaces will be ignored.
